DESILVERING

Mirror artworks are vulnerable to desilver over time. Desilvering largely occurs due to high levels of humidity which oxidise the silver on the back of the glass. This can be avoided by wiping down the mirror shortly after it is exposed to steam or water. It is also less likely to happen when the glass is framed around the edges. Spectrum Mirror cannot ensure that mirrors will not desilver. If desilvering occurs within one year of purchase the mirror artwork falls within the warranty period and we will replace the mirror with the same, shape and colour mirror.

PAYMENT, PRICES AND DELIVERY

Spectrum requests a 75% deposit to begin production on a new artwork or custom artwork. Our lead time is 6-20 weeks. Prior to delivery or collection of the artwork, the 25% balance remaining payment must be made. Packaging, delivery and installation costs are not included in retail price. We are able to provide packaging, delivery and installation at an additional cost. This applies to orders within South Africa, as well as internationally.

LIABILITY

Studio shall not be responsible for any damages caused by faulty installation or inappropriate use of the artwork.

GENERAL TERMS

  1. Order Confirmation: Upon receipt of your order, Studio will send an order confirmation email detailing the order summary and estimated delivery date.

  2. Cancellations: Orders can be cancelled within 7 days of placing the order. A full refund will be issued, minus any non-refundable deposits.

  3. Returns: Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery, provided the artwork is in its original condition. A restocking fee may apply. Items sold during sales are non-refundable and will not be accepted for return or credit.

  4. Limitation of Liability: Studio's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the purchase price of the artwork.

  5. Force Majeure: Studio shall not be liable for any delay or failure in performance due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, or natural disasters.

  6. Governing Law: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa.

WARRANTY

Artworks have a 1-year warranty on manufacturers defects. Spectrum ensures that artworks will be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for one year after the date of purchase. This applies whether the artwork was sold directly from Spectrum or through one of our galleries or agents partners. Spectrum reserves the right to inspect the damaged product. All costs of shipping for inspection shall be paid by the purchaser. Should the returned products be found to be faulty, Spectrum will deliver the repaired and replaced products to the original destination at its own cost and shall reimburse the Purchaser for return delivery costs incurred. Spectrum will not be held responsible for damages caused by incorrect installation or maintenance performed by the Purchaser.

QUALITY STANDARDS

Spectrum does its very best to ensure that the highest possible quality glass and mirror are used in our artworks. Not every glass surface is the same, however, and scratches, blemishes, chips and pits do occasionally occur during the manufacturing, handling, transportation and polishing processes. We carefully check each piece of glass before it's used to make sure it's up to our standards. We do not use any glass with imperfections that are visible from 2 metres away or farther. Please note that, because of the nature of the antiquing process, antique mirror textures vary and pieces will likely appear different than those shown in photography.
